Reassurance Of Love

Life is the road one must go down,
To find the person they really are,
And when that person is finally found,
You can wish on the brightest star.

Wish one day that you will find,
One who captures your every thought,
And makes you leave past love behind,
To keep this love you've always sought.

Sometimes it's obvious and crystal clear,
The one that you will grow to love,
At other times there is the fear,
That person's not meant from above.

Still at times one must be strong,
To always know there is one's fate,
To bring the one for which you'll long,
So patiently live your life and wait.

But don't lose your faith or close an eye,
For that may be the very instant,
That true love will pass you by,
And make the hope of love more distant.

So always keep an open mind,
And never have a fear or doubt,
Because one day you're sure to find,
Exactly what true love's about.

The Story Behind You and I

To The One I Love,

In you I found a forever friend,
That I could have never bought,
Your love no one will ever bend,
The kind that is only dreamed about.

You’re there whenever I start to cry,
To help me through life’s tough times,
And I will never ever know why,
You were my partner in all my crimes.

The crazy stories that we could tell,
Would certainly perk everyone’s ears,
Cause we always seemed to raise hell,
And be the cause of our parents tears.

To teach us discipline was an endless task,
But life’s hard lessons did it best,
Better than parents could ever ask,
Our foolish pride is laid to rest.

Now we’re grown and falling hard,
We talk about family things,
Like a house and big back yard,
And kids playing on the swings.

Ten years ago we’d never guessed,
That this is where we’d be now,
Cause of all my friends you were the best,
Now all I can say is simply…wow.

They say you must first be friends,
Before you can love with all your heart,
Cause you will have to make amends,
When your love starts to fall apart.

I think we’ve accomplished that already,
We’ve fought and made up before,
Now here we are going steady,
Instead of robbing the general store.

In our hearts we’re still just kids,
Having fun and playing pranks,
Unscrewing each other’s salt shaker lids,
Pretending we’re pirates walking planks.

It’s this innocent love that lets us live,
Always smiling and laughing hard,
These memories I want to one day give,
To the kids that’ll be in our back yard.

To be young again and start all over,
I don’t think I’d change a thing,
I’d still like playing red rover,
And giving underdogs on the swing.

You know what always make me tick,
And all the crazy foods I like,
No one else I’d ever pick,
Because you threw me my first strike.

Looking back on us growing together,
It is so easy for me to know,
That you and I spells forever,
So let’s put on another show.

Our parents will again shed tears,
But not from sadness madness or worry,
They watched us fall over the years,
And know our love’s not in a hurry.

We are best friends and will always be,
No one will ever tear us apart,
Cause the love that sets us free,
We help hold in each other’s heart.

I am forever yours my love.

The Night That Changed Everything

One night I was walking through town when I came across a little boy. The smile on his face was radiant and lit up the night. The twinkle in his eye sent out a glow that could melt anyone's heart. It was a twinkle of the absolute joy for everything in his life and everyone in his life. He never said a word, just looked at me and smiled. A smile that looked like it was a natural part of his face. A smile that you would think was painted on his face...it was so perfect. It was then that I realized that a young innocent love is perhaps the best love ever. It may not be a true love as if he was in love, but just simply appreciated the fact that there was someone in his life that made him feel alive. I just looked at the little boy and realized how much I have to be thankful for...that little boy I saw when I looked at my reflection in the window of the antique store on the corner of Calumet and Broadway in the small town of Chesterton.

Our Son

To The One I Love,

Our son is growing fast,
He has his mother’s spirit,
And not a day has passed,
That I have held one regret.

Our love has only grown,
And now he is a part,
Of the love that’s always shown,
And held deep inside my heart.

My love for the both of you,
Cannot be measured in this life,
God is the only one that knew,
You would be my lifelong wife.

He gave us this amazing child,
To raise and teach and love,
Even though we once were wild,
Our son is a gift from above.

I can see the love in your eyes,
As you hold him against your chest,
And wipe his tears when he cries,
And tell him he is simply the best.

A mother’s love is the greatest thing,
That God has given to mankind,
A mother’s voice can always sing,
A song to help our son unwind.

We tuck him into bed at night,
And say with him a simple prayer,
That we will always raise him right,
And make it through another year.

The years will quickly pass us by,
And soon our son will be grown,
And may he never question why,
So much love to him was shown.

I am forever yours my love.

Thoughts At Night

To The One I Love,

Nights are not sleepless,
From worries and fear,
Nights are now priceless,
Cause you are right here.

Laying here next to you,
Feeling your soft skin,
Doing what I want to,
And it’s not even a sin.

Why do you love me,
This foolish little boy,
You set my heart free,
And it’s not even a ploy.

Your love lets me live,
With no worries or fear,
The happiness you give,
Is the reason for this tear.

I want to dream forever,
Next to you I’ll wake,
I will always endeavor,
Not to let our love shake.

An answer to my prayers,
You have come to be,
Over the next fifty years,
I want you to feel free.

Always free to be yourself,
Yourself in every part,
Don’t put our love up on a shelf,
But hold it dear to your heart.

So as I try to go to sleep,
And wrap you up in my arms,
Know that you I’ll always keep,
Safe from any and every harm.

I am forever yours my love.

Wedding Night

To The One I Love,

If time could stand still,
And there were wishes,
Every minute I would fill,
With your passionate kisses.

Just a simple soft touch,
And an eternal embrace,
Would give my heart a rush,
And bring a smile to my face.

Your eyes are fixed with mine,
The same thoughts in our heads,
Our arms are intertwined,
As we lay here in our bed.

Holding each other so close,
Not a thought of letting go,
Our love is what we chose,
Down eternity’s path we go.

Today we vowed to each other,
In sickness, health, wealth, poverty,
That we would not love another,
For our love is true prosperity.

We have had many smiles,
And even a lot more tears,
We have walked a lot of miles,
In just these past few years.

Time will quickly pass us by,
Memories will come and go,
Sometimes we’ll wonder why,
Our love doesn't even show.

That’s why if time stood still,
And there were wishes,
Every minute I would fill,
With your passionate kisses.

I am forever yours my love.
