If Only Thoughts Were Reality

I thought you were the perfect one,
That could always please my bitter heart,
But those thoughts are now long gone,
Because of you I want no part.

You came across as loving and kind,
And I started falling hard and fast,
But God I must have been so blind,
Cause happiness with you would never last.

To see you put yourself first place,
May not be wrong but there’s a time,
When a man just needs that space,
And that place with you I cannot find.

I was there to listen when you were mad,
I told you everything would be okay,
And now what makes me feel so sad,
Is that “fuck you” is all that you could say.

I held you at night when you felt alone,
I kissed your hand and made you laugh,
What else could I have possibly done,
To make bad times leave that fast.

I guess it’s simple and easy to know,
That I can’t take a chance with you,
Cause if disrespect you want to show,
It’s plain and simple we are through.
