Holding On To Letting Go

Trying so hard to find the one,
Giving all I have without a doubt,
Just when the hardest part is done,
I start searching for my way out.

The smiles come with every day,
The memories filling up my mind,
Passion never seems to go away,
This is what I've wanted to find.

I look into your eyes and I see,
Gentleness humility grace and fear,
We seem like we are meant to be,
Laying down at night I shed a tear.

I am not disappointed or even sad,
I'm fearful cautious and happy in one,
Hoping my heart has not been had,
Praying my search for love is done.

The past flashes quickly through my head,
I relive the pain of my heart breaking,
Laying alone and cold in my bed,
This risk of love I won't be taking.

See there's a lesson I've learned so well,
To always hold on until you know,
Those three words you're aching to tell,
Instead I'm holding on to letting go.
