With Tears Come A Smile

The tears well up in my eyes,
My heart aches from the loss,
I ask myself a hundred whys,
How much does love really cost.

I walked away from what I knew,
The bitterness hatred fear and pain,
What more was I supposed to do,
Love and attention I could not gain.

I know my life will now get better,
I'm stronger and wiser from this test,
Harder times I now can weather,
The love I'll have will be the best.

Someone to hold through all the night,
That won't let go or turn their back,
Everything we'll have will feel so right,
Perfection and love we will not lack.

One day I'll look back and finally say,
I hurt that time and thought the worst,
I never thought that I'd see today,
Because I thought my life was cursed.

But here I'm holding her so tight,
Hand in hand walked many a mile,
And now everything feels just right,
Because with tears come a smile.
