The Night That Changed Everything

One night I was walking through town when I came across a little boy. The smile on his face was radiant and lit up the night. The twinkle in his eye sent out a glow that could melt anyone's heart. It was a twinkle of the absolute joy for everything in his life and everyone in his life. He never said a word, just looked at me and smiled. A smile that looked like it was a natural part of his face. A smile that you would think was painted on his face...it was so perfect. It was then that I realized that a young innocent love is perhaps the best love ever. It may not be a true love as if he was in love, but just simply appreciated the fact that there was someone in his life that made him feel alive. I just looked at the little boy and realized how much I have to be thankful for...that little boy I saw when I looked at my reflection in the window of the antique store on the corner of Calumet and Broadway in the small town of Chesterton.
